CT Marketing Agency is seeking a skilled Freelance Weapons Industry Copywriter to write high-quality, SEO-driven content for clients in the weapons and outdoor products industries. This is a freelance, project-based writing role.

The ideal candidate has excellent English writing skills, strong research ability, and a professional understanding of weapons-related products, including firearms, firearm kits, swords, bows, arrows, airsoft guns, katanas, bugout bags, and similar products. Candidates should also be comfortable researching industry-specific regulations and writing accurate, responsible, brand-aligned content.

About the Role


Projects commonly include writing content for eCommerce websites, such as:

  • Category pages
  • Product descriptions
  • Blog posts
  • SEO landing pages
  • Website copy for weapons-related brands

This role is ideal for a technical and creative writer with 2 to 4 years of professional, non-academic writing experience. You should be able to create content that blends SEO best practices, brand priorities, product knowledge, and engaging copy that supports client goals.

Responsibilities

  • Write clear, accurate, SEO-friendly web content for weapons and outdoor product clients
  • Research each client, their products, target audience, and industry requirements
  • Follow detailed writing guidelines and client instructions
  • Create content that is engaging, brand-aligned, and ROI-focused
  • Write for eCommerce sites, including category pages, product descriptions, and blogs
  • Complete assignments by deadline and communicate professionally with the team

Qualifications

  • Excellent English writing, grammar, editing, and proofreading skills
  • 2 to 4 years of professional writing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of weapons-related products, including firearms, swords, bows, airsoft guns, and related gear
  • Ability to research industry regulations and product details carefully
  • Understanding of SEO writing best practices
  • Ability to follow detailed guidelines and adapt to different client voices
  • Portfolio or links to relevant published work preferred

Scheduling


Writers accept an average of 10 pages of work per week. Assignments are typically sent with due dates 1 to 2 weeks in advance. Work for client websites often recurs monthly, creating stable and predictable assignments once writers establish relevant expertise.

Compensation


Writers are paid on a per-word basis. Rates are assessed according to our KPI rubric.

  • Initial compensation is up to $0.06 per word, with $0.034 per word being the most typical rate
  • This equals approximately $30 or $17 per 500-word page
  • After 400 live pages, the top rate increases to $0.064 per word, with $0.038 per word being the most typical rate
  • After 800 live pages, the top rate increases to $0.07 per word, with $0.044 per word being the most typical rate

Application Process


Candidates should be prepared to complete a skills test with 11 short-response questions and 9 multiple-choice questions about writing experience and industry expertise.

Applicants may be asked to provide a portfolio or links to published work on similar weapons-related websites, if available. Once an offer is extended, writers will complete a brief training course.
