Candidate FAQs
Technical support
-
Q: When will I receive the skills test?
A: You have the option to take the skills test immediately after submitting an application on our careers page or to have the access link emailed to you after an initial review of your application, typically after 24 hours.
-
Q: I did not receive the skills test access link via email.
A: If at least 24 hours have passed since you submitted an application on our careers page, please search your inbox for an email from noreply@testedrecruits.com. It is a good idea to check your spam folder.
If you are still unable to find the link, please reach out to careers@coalitiontechnologies.com.
-
Q: The “next” button in the skills test is not advancing to the next page.
A: This issue is most commonly caused by the following factors:
- The “agreement” box at the top of the page has been left unchecked. If this is the case, please check the box before continuing.
- Your browser uses a translation plugin, which is not compatible with our platform. If this is the case, please disable the plugin and reload the page. Any previously typed answers should be saved.
-
Q: The skills test is not submitting properly.
A: Please ensure that all boxes have been checked, all answers have been filled, and that any uploaded files meet size requirements.
If the size of your introduction video is large, you can upload it to a third-party hosting site such as Dropbox or Google Drive, paste the video link in a Word or text document, and upload that document to the video portion of our test. Please adjust the permission settings so that it can be accessed by multiple users on our team.
If still unsuccessful, attempting your submission on a different browser may resolve the issue. Once the skills test has been submitted successfully, you will receive a confirmation message.
General
-
Q: Do you accept applications from candidates who live outside of the U.S.?
A: Yes. We hire internationally for all of our positions and our team is fully remote.
-
Q: Will your positions always be remote?
A: Yes, unless clearly stated otherwise. We're highly committed to remote work and have over a decade of experience supporting full-time remote team members.
-
Q: Do you offer flexible hours?
A: We have company-wide core business hours of 9 AM - 6 PM USA Pacific Time in order to better serve our clients and work cohesively as a team. We hire globally and frequently allow for reasonable schedule variations. Schedule flexibility is earned after a team member has been with the company for at least 3 months. It also depends on a team member's performance and on the needs of the role. In general, we would still expect a good overlap with our core business hours.
-
Q: Do you hire part-time?
A: All the positions advertised on this page are full-time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
-
Q: Are there any opportunities for internships?
A: We currently do not accept applications for internships, but we do encourage recent graduates or entry-level candidates to apply. We provide extensive training for all of our roles.
-
Q: Do you offer visa sponsorship?
A: Unfortunately, we do not offer visa sponsorship at this time.
-
Q: What does your hiring process look like?
A: The first step in our hiring process is to submit an application on our careers page and complete the accompanying skills test. If you are selected to move forward, a recruiter from our team will be in touch with you to set up a Zoom interview, during which you may be assigned a follow-up test. This will complete your application with Coalition Technologies.
-
Q: I’ve submitted my skills test. When should I expect to hear back from you?
A: Due to the high volume of applications that we receive at the initial stage of the recruitment process, please note that we will only reach out to you if we decide to move forward.
If you have not heard back from us within a few weeks from your skills test submission, we will keep your profile on file for future opportunities and will reach out to you accordingly.
-
Q: If you believe I am a better fit for a different role than the one I applied for, would I be considered for that role instead?
A: Yes. Based on a thorough review of your skills and experience, we might consider you for a role that is different from the one you originally applied for.
-
Q: I am lacking some of the preferred experience listed under a role I am interested in applying for. Should I still apply?
A: We do not view prior work history and/or education as a requirement for hiring. Our hiring decisions are heavily influenced by a candidate's performance on our skills tests. This allows candidates from any experience level to have a chance at joining our team.
Skills Tests
-
Q: Why do I have to take a skills test?
A: Considering we receive a high number of qualified applicants for our positions, we are unfortunately unable to interview every applicant based solely on their resume or portfolio.
Our skills tests are designed to assess basic compatibility with our roles. This process is designed to be more efficient and fair for both candidates and our team. It is also a great opportunity for you to tell us a little bit about yourself and gives you a chance to talk about your experience, your skills, and your interest in the position.
-
Q: Why do I have to record a video introduction?
A: The video portion of our skills tests is used to gauge presentation skills as they are important to our work as a fully remote digital marketing agency. All of our team members are expected to engage in video meetings with our clients or other team members.
-
Q: Is there a deadline for the skills test?
A: There is no fixed deadline to take the skills test. Your application will be evaluated for the position once you submit it.
-
Q: Once I access the skills test, does the time it takes me to complete it influence the outcome of my application?
A: No. Although we do have a recommended allotted time for each of our tests, we consider the quality of answers to be more important than time spent on the test.
-
Q: I don’t have Microsoft Excel installed on my computer. How can I complete the spreadsheet exercise included in the Office Assistant and Accountant skills tests?
A: If you don't have Microsoft Excel, you may use Google Sheets instead. It is recommended to use a computer over a mobile device when completing the skills test.
-
Q: Does the skills test have to be completed in English?
A: Yes, as being able to communicate in English is a job requirement.
-
Q: For Front End Developer candidates: I do not have access to Photoshop. How can I complete the skills test?
A: If you do not have access to Photoshop you can try a free site such as Photopea. A Google search might yield a few other comparable substitutes.
-
Q: For Front End Developer candidates: Where can I get the images for the PSD to HTML conversion exercise?
A: You should be able to extract any required images from the PSD file by using Photoshop or similar software.
